1. Vita Club President resigns

Vita Club has enjoyed a renaissance in the last few years. They reached the CAFCL final in 2014 and the CAFCC final in 2018. The man behind this success was, club President, Amisi Kumba (Florent Ibenge as well 😉). Kumba surprised DR Congo by announcing his resignation this week. It is not clear why he is leaving, we can only speculate that it is for personal reasons.

2. Shikabala wants season cancelled

Zamalek winger, Shikabala voiced his opinion on whether the Egyptian Premier League season should resume. There have been hints in Egypt about intent to resume the league campaign. But Shikabala told an Egyptian TV station that he would not support such a move. He said, “I think we have to wait for another time…then we can start a new season.”

Shikabala feels player safety should come first. And he added that the only reason the likes of Bundesliga and  Premier League are able to resume is because they only have a few league matches left to play. On the other hand, the Egyptian Premier League is at the halfway stage.

3. TP Mazembe President to buy Anderlecht?

It is reported in Belgium that, TP Mazembe President, Moïse Katumbi is interested in investing in RSC Anderlecht. He wants to buy a stake in the Belgian Pro League club. Why? TP Mazembe could move players to Europe through Anderlecht. It is no secret that the Lubumbashi side has become a selling club in recent years.

4. JS Kabylie reveal JSK Tower plan

Algerian clubs are making moves to catch up with those in Morocco, Tunisia and Egypt. JS Kabylie’s step towards this will be the construction of JSK Tower at the club’s grounds in Tizi Ouzou. The tower will house a 250-room hotel, shopping center, office space and apartments. Good for them. Remember, JS Kabylie is also set to move to the 50,000-seater Abdelkader Khaled stadium once it’s completed.

5. Etoile Sahel striker to join Pyramids FC

Etoile Sahel striker, Karim Aribi is set to join Pyramids FC of Egypt. Apparently, the Egyptian club’s offer was too attractive for both Etoile and Aribi to refuse. And in any case, Etoile Sahel already has the likes of Coulibaly and Zerdoum to take the place of the Algerian striker. Karim Aribi is the top scorer of this season’s CAF Champions League with 11 goals.
