1. Casablanca Derby Postponed

Casablanca Derby

The match between Raja Casablanca and Wydad Casablanca did not go on as planned this week because Wydad reported new cases of Covid-19 infections in their squad. 2. Zamalek Loses, Al Ahly Wins

Zamalek followed up on their Cairo Derby win over Al Ahly with a league loss to Arab Contractors. This gave Pyramids FC the chance to overtake the White Knights into second place in the race for CAFCL qualification. On the other hand, Al Ahly moved a step closer to winning another Egyptian Premier League titie. The Reds beat El Gouna and Al Masry and kept clean sheets in both matches.

What does this mean for the CAFCL semifinals? Zamalek continue to be unpredictable. They seem to perform in big matches but lack consistency in securing wins against the “lesser sides.” Ahly have incorporated Badji into their team and are maintaining squad sharpness ahead of their last four clash with Wydad
